“God wanted to preserve him”: Iran calls US claims about the health of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei a “hoax used by the enemy”

A senior Iranian government official denied US allegations regarding the health of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, and said that he is in good health.A member of the Assembly of Experts and Deputy International Affairs in the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi said that such methods are used by the West to provoke their reactions and engage in rumour-mongering.“Some are asking about the health status of His Eminence Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei. This is a trick of the enemy who wants to say why he is not there? Why does he not send an audio or video message?” According to what was reported by Fars News Agency.“Why don’t people who visited him come forward and speak out?” “They want to use these questions to force us to respond so they can achieve their goals,” he added.Qomi also confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei was in the building that was bombed, but was eventually rescued. He added: “He was in the same building that was bombed, where others were martyred. Just minutes before the explosion, he went, God willing, into the courtyard. God wanted to protect him.”He added, “He is currently in good health and is managing his affairs effectively and supervising matters related to negotiations and field operations under his direct supervision.”

He even recently gave specific instructions to the negotiating team regarding what actions to take under different circumstances. Qomi added, according to what was reported by Fars News Agency, that he has full control over the situation.Despite his injuries, Iranian officials are now focusing on preserving the life of the Supreme Leader, Qomi said.He added: “The most important issue for us now is to help preserve the life of His Eminence the leader, who is currently God’s argument on earth.

I assure you that despite the injuries he sustained there, God Almighty preserved him as a treasure for the Shiites.”This comes as several US media outlets reported that Khamenei is facing critical medical challenges after surviving a bomb attack, raising questions about his ability to exercise full control while the country is locked in a war and fragile ceasefire talks.According to a New York Times report, Khamenei underwent surgery on his hand, suffered severe facial burns and is awaiting an artificial leg after being injured in the strike. While he remains mentally capable of making decisions, his physical condition has greatly limited his direct participation. The New York Times previously reported that Mojtaba Khamenei remained largely out of sight after the February 28 airstrikes on the compound of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, where he was staying. The attack also led to the killing of his wife and son.
