'Make a deal before it's too late': Trump warns Iran as death toll from bridge strikes rises to 8

Eight people were killed and at least 100 others were injured in the attack on the B1 Bridge in Karaj, Iran, according to Iranian state media. US President Donald Trump earlier bragged about the strike, warning Tehran that there was “a lot to follow” and urging it to “make a deal before it’s too late” even as US strikes targeted key infrastructure and a major bridge near the capital.Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi rejected the threat, saying the attack would not force surrender, but instead reflected “the defeat and moral collapse of an enemy in chaos,” while vowing to rebuild damaged infrastructure stronger.Trump posted on the Truth Social website a video clip showing the Karaj Bridge that was bombed in Iran. “Iran’s largest bridge is collapsing, never to be used again, and there’s a lot more to follow!” books.

He added a direct warning to Tehran, saying: “It is time for Iran to make a deal before it is too late, and there is nothing left that can still become a great country!”These statements came after US strikes reportedly hit a major bridge on the highway linking Tehran to Karaj. Iranian media described it as one of the highest bridges in the Middle East.

The structure, identified as the B1 Bridge in Karaj, was still under construction and was part of a major highway project linking the region to the capital.

Iranian state media reported that the 136-meter-high bridge was partially destroyed in the attack. There were reports that several people were injured in the attack, which Tehran said was carried out by the United States and Israel.Iranian authorities also claimed that a historic medical facility in Tehran had been bombed. Photos published by the Ministry of Health showed significant damage to a building identified as Iran’s Pasteur Institute, a century-old research center. The latest strikes come amid escalating hostilities in the region, with Washington intensifying its pressure on Tehran as its military operations continue.
