French President Emmanuel Macron posted an AI-generated image on the X, showing himself standing alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, promoting closer technology partnerships between the two countries. President Macron is on a three-day state visit to India and will be the keynote speaker at the AI Impact Summit 2026 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

Macron’s visit to India
President Macron in the morning inaugurated the Franco-Indian Center for Artificial Intelligence in Health, jointly led by AIIMS, Sorbonne University and the Paris Brain Institute. The health facility at AIIMS is expected to provide quality health care to the patients.

Mr Macron’s nonchalant jog along Marine Drive, south Mumbai’s longest coastal promenade, on Tuesday (Feb 17, 2026) also surprised residents. “It has sent a positive message about health to the youth in the city that hosts the marathons,” the External Affairs Ministry said.

Mr Macron paid tribute to the victims of the 26/11 terror attacks at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, reiterating France’s strong stance against terrorism. “In the face of terrorism, unity and determination,” he said. Later, Modi organized a dinner for the President of France. The visit followed the Prime Minister’s visit to France last year and marked the 20th meeting between the two leaders in the last few years.

Mr Macron also exuded Mumbai’s glamor by joining a lunch meet on Wednesday (February 18, 2026) attended by celebrities like Zoya Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Manoj Bajpayee, Anil Kapoor, Kabir Khan, Neeraj Ghaiwan, Richa Chadha and the Grammy Award winning.
