Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett was defeated in the party’s primary in the Texas Senate race by Rep. James Tallarico, a 36-year-old former middle school teacher. The Republican race was not decided on Tuesday, with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and current US Senator John Cornyn each receiving less than 50% of the total vote.
Both men are scheduled to advance to a runoff on May 26.“Tonight, the people of our state gave this country a little bit of hope,” Talarico told a crowd of supporters shortly after midnight, as he powered forward. “A little hope is dangerous.”Crockett is certainly more popular than Talarico because she regularly appears on liberal television outlets while Talarico, according to observers, offers a softer approach.
He is Jasmine Crockett outside Congress ?
The primary loss means that Crockett will not be able to return to Congress unless she runs again in another race because she chose to run for the Senate rather than seek re-election to her House seat.
