After more than a month of war between Trump and the Tehran regime, Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Wednesday instructed the Iranian military to adhere to a ceasefire, while forcefully declaring that “this is not the end of the war.”

Khalifa Ali Khamenei and his son Mojtaba declared in his statement: “This is not the end of the war, but all military branches must follow the Supreme Leader’s order and cease fire,” CNN reported.Iran’s Supreme National Security Council also confirmed a two-week ceasefire amid the ongoing military escalation.Khamenei’s order came hours after a strongly worded warning from Trump, who warned Iran that “the entire civilization will die tonight,” reflecting growing frustration over Tehran’s move to close the Strait of Hormuz.Despite its agreement to stop hostilities, Tehran indicated that the ceasefire does not represent an end to the conflict, after continued military pressure from American and Israeli forces.Iran has set a series of conditions associated with any permanent solution. These include full compensation for reconstruction, the lifting of all sanctions, and the release of Iranian funds frozen by the United States. The proposal also calls for a complete and permanent cessation of hostilities in Iran, as well as throughout Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen, along with the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and guarantees of safe and free navigation.

In addition, Iran pledged that it would not seek to acquire nuclear weapons, provided these conditions were met, and stated that a comprehensive ceasefire on all fronts would enter into force immediately upon approval.A day earlier, Tehran rejected Washington’s proposal to stop military action with the United States and Israel, despite Trump’s warning of the possible destruction of Iran’s vital infrastructure.
