Indian passport fees in UAE have been revised with effect from July 1
Indian nationals applying for passport and related consular services in the UAE will have to pay higher fees from July 1, 2026, following a review announced by the Government of India. The new fee structure will be implemented at the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi, Consulate General of India in Dubai and all Indian Consular Application Centers (ICACs) across the UAE.This amendment represents the first increase in passport service fees since 2012, and is part of the Centre’s broader move to standardize passport fees across Indian missions across the world, Khaleej Times reported.
High fees for new passports and tax services
Under the revised prices, a 36-page passport for a new application or reissue will cost Dh450 under the regular system, up from Dh285, while applicants opting for the Tatkaal (expedited) service will pay Dh900.For a 60-page passport, the fee has been set at Dh630 under the regular category and Dh1,080 under the takal category.Applicants seeking to replace a lost or damaged passport will face steeper fees. The cost of a 36-page replacement passport is Dh900 under the regular system and Dh1,350 under the Tatkaal system. For a 60-page passport, the corresponding fees are AED 1,080 and AED 1,530 respectively.
Revised fees for minors
The government has also revised passport fees for applicants under 18 years of age.
The cost of a new or reissued 36-page passport for minors is AED 325 under the regular category and AED 775 under the Tatkaal scheme. In cases involving loss or damage of passports, fees have been set at AED 775 for normal processing and AED 1,225 for taka.To provide relief to families, the government has offered a 10 per cent discount on new passport applications for children up to the age of eight, bringing the fee down to Dh295 under the regular regime and Dh700 under the Tatkal regime.
However, the concession will not apply to passport renewal or re-issuance.
The PCC and other consular services were also reviewed
The higher fees also extend to many consular services. The cost of Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs), Surrender Certificates and Global Entry Verification has been increased to AED 145, compared to AED 95.The cost of an emergency certificate now costs 60 dirhams, while the price of an identity certificate is 180 dirhams. These services are not available under Tatkaal category.
Validity and additional fees
The government has clarified that passports issued to applicants aged 18 and above will continue to be valid for 10 years, while passports issued to minors will remain valid for five years or until the holder turns 18, whichever comes first. The revised government fees do not include processing fees charged by the third party provider or the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) levy. These fees will be charged separately, where applicable.
A new outsourcing partner takes over
The revised fee structure comes into effect along with a change in the outsourcing agency handling Indian consular services in the UAE. India Tourism and Travel Limited has taken over passport, visa and other consular application services across the country with effect from July 1.The final service fees payable to the external agency will be notified separately.
