Indian father accused of trying to kill his 2-year-old child in North Carolina; It caused life-threatening injuries to the child's skull

An Indian father has been arrested in the US for causing fatal injuries to his two-year-old child.

A 41-year-old Indian-origin man, Kiran Neetha Basunuri, has been charged with the attempted murder of his toddler, who was hospitalized with serious injuries, in North Carolina.

The incident occurred on June 2 and the father was arrested on June 25. Two days after the arrest, the father was charged with two counts of felony negligent child abuse, causing serious bodily injury, and two counts of felony negligent child abuse, causing serious bodily injury.According to arrest warrants, Basunuri is accused of attempting to kill the child during the June 2 incident, during which he allegedly caused life-threatening injuries to the child’s skull.

Court records show Basunori was denied bail on the attempted murder charge. He made his first appearance in Wake County Circuit Court on all charges on Monday and is scheduled to return on July 20.The child suffered a massive subdural hematoma and retinal hemorrhage after the attack. Surgeons had to remove part of the child’s skull.The child also suffered compression fractures in several vertebrae.

Stress fractures occur when a fracture in the vertebra causes it to collapse, according to the Cleveland Clinic.It is not known what happened between the father and the little child and why the father injured his child. But doctors confirmed that medical care was sought after a long delay and a long time had passed between the initial infection and the child’s admission to the hospital.
