Earlier, the deadline for two ransom notes, one demanding $6 million in bitcoins, fell as leads because the senders could not provide proof of life. The Guthrie family made a video agreeing to pay in exchange for proof of life.

The new note is not a ransom note like the previous two. Here, the sender asks to transfer 1 Bitcoin to a wallet in exchange for information about the alleged suspect behind Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping.

“If they want the name of the person involved, I want 1 bitcoin in the following wallet,” the note read, per TMZ. “Time is more than relevant.”

Police have not confirmed the authenticity of the note. The Guthrie family has also not yet released a response to the note. However, the new ransom note has sparked interest in how much 1 Bitcoin is worth in US dollars.

What is the price of 1 Bitcoin? As of Wednesday, February 11, 1 Bitcoin is worth about $66,300 USD. Notably, the price of bitcoin fell 3.64% (around $2,400) on Wednesday (February 11), continuing its more than 45% decline since August 2025.

Latest on photos of interestThe new note comes as a new twist in the case after the FBI released photos of a possible person of interest on Tuesday. The images were recovered from a door security camera at Nancy Guthrie’s home near Tucson, Arizona.

Earlier Wednesday, Carlos Palazuelos, a resident of Rio Rico, Arizona, was detained for questioning and later released by the FBI. However, the FBI has not released Palajuel’s nationality or any other information about him. But some social media posts claim he is a “doordash driver”.
