At least six people, including four Indian students, were injured in a stabbing attack at a university in Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic on Saturday (February 7, 2026), media reports and the Indian Mission in Moscow said.
According to preliminary reports, a teenager armed with a knife entered the dormitory of the State Medical University in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan. They attacked students living there and stabbed several of them, the Interior Ministry said.

Four people injured in the attack are receiving medical treatment, the Russian Federal Ministry of Health said in a statement. The condition of one is critical while the condition of the other three is moderate, it said.
The attacker, identified as a 15-year-old boy, was admitted to a local children’s hospital in critical condition, according to the Baja Telegram channel.
Authorities in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan, about 1,200 km east of Moscow, have launched a high-level investigation into the incident.
