Chocolate manufacturer Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd has announced the recall of its products from across England, Scotland and Wales. The recall came after it was found that the products contained milk and soy that were not listed on the label.Consumers with allergies to milk or soy are urged not to eat these products. The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised affected customers to return the products to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.The recalled chocolate includes products with new shapes such as ladybugs, butterflies, hearts and sports cars.Although the products are not considered dangerous to the general public, they may cause serious allergic reactions in people who cannot consume milk or soy.
Why is chocolate recalled?
According to the Food Standards Agency, Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd has recalled the products because they contain milk and soy missing from the ingredient information on the packaging.Food labels are important because they help people with allergies identify ingredients that can lead to serious reactions. When allergens are not declared, consumers may unknowingly eat food that is not safe for them.The FDA said: “These products contain milk and soybeans, making them a potential health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk components and/or an allergy to soybeans.”
List of recalled products
The recall covers several new chocolate products. These include the medium-sized ladybird with best-before dates of January 16, 2028 and March 1, 2027; Little Red Ladybug with best before dates of January 21, 2027 and January 25, 2027; Big red heart with best-before dates of November 22, 2027, December 23, 2027, and December 26, 2027; Mini Butterflies with best before dates of March 21, 2027 and September 9, 2027; And a sports car with the best date before August 15, 2027.

Anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk ingredients, or an allergy to soy, should check if they have purchased any of these products.

The Food Standards Agency has advised people who are allergic to milk or soya not to return products to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd is recalling the affected products from customers and has been asked to contact the relevant allergy support organizations so their members can be informed about the recall, the Financial Services Authority said.“The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.
