Broadcast journalist Savannah Guthrie, the host of NBC’s Today and Nancy’s daughter, had earlier issued a desperate plea for anyone with knowledge of her missing mother to contact law enforcement.

“We are in an hour of desperation,” Guthrie said. “And we need your help,” Guthrie said.

A day after a deadline set by a ransom note from the octogenarian’s would-be kidnappers passed, the FBI has yet to identify a suspect.

Guthrie’s family said Sunday that they would pay the kidnappers to ensure her safe return home. Officials have not confirmed the genuineness of this ransom demand.

Efforts to contact the kidnappers appear to have dropped, with officials saying Monday night that they “are not aware of any ongoing communication between the Guthrie family and the suspected kidnappers, nor have we identified a suspect or person of interest in this case at this time.”

The FBI said the agency is sending more agents from field offices in the US to Guthrie’s hometown of Tuscany. Arizonaoutside of which her blood was found.

Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home around February 1st.

One roadblock in the search for Guthrie is that someone disconnected her doorbell camera when she disappeared, they said. And because she was not actively subscribed to the doorbell camera service provider, they said they were unable to get the pictures right away.
