On Monday, as the search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC’s Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, continued, journalist Ashleigh Banfield claimed that Savannah Guthrie’s brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni – the husband of Annie Guthrie, is the “prime suspect.” However, so far, officials have not identified or named a suspect in the Arizona disappearance case.

The names of Tommaso Cioni and Annie Guthrie came up in the investigation after the Pima County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that they were the last people Nancy Guthrie disappeared on the night. The couple last saw him on Saturday night, January 31. They live just 10 minutes from Nancy Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Arizona.

Meanwhile, Ashley Banfield, the journalist who named Sioni as a prime suspect, works for News Nation. He claimed on his podcast, “Ashley Banfield x Drop Dead Serious.”

The Daily Mail reported that the couple left their Pima County home in a dark-colored Honda SUV around 5pm local time on Wednesday afternoon. The report notes that their home, a 10-minute drive from Nancy Guthrie’s, was purchased just a few months ago and is worth more than $650,000.
