At this time, the authorities have not published an official photo of Menchu after his killing. This was confirmed by Cedena, BBC, New York Times, Reuters, CNN and others.” The chatbot shared more details about the alleged photo, saying “This photo — first leaked on Blog del Narco (with ‘presuntas imágenes’) — shows his body on a stretcher, bloodied and bruised. What do you know about Al Manchu and how he was killed?
Al-Menchu, 59, has had ties with organized crime for nearly three decades. He founded CJNG in 2009 and it has become the fastest growing criminal organization in Mexico. According to the DEA, it was on par with the Sinaloa Cartel, and was one of the major suppliers of cocaine to the United States. CJNG was known to manufacture fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to law enforcement.

El Mencho was among four people killed, while three others were injured and later died while being transported to Mexico City.
It is believed that his death will leave the cartel searching for a new leader and experts believe this could weaken it against the Sinaloa cartel on several fronts. However, the Sinaloa cartel itself is locked in infighting between “El Chapo’s” sons and the faction loyal to Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada.
Mike Vigil, former head of international operations for the DEA, noted that this is the time to intensify action against cartels in Mexico. “This is a big opportunity for Mexico and the United States if they work together,” he added.
Meanwhile, security analyst David Saucedo warned that violence could continue if the El Mencho family takes control of the cartel. He said they could launch “narcotic terrorist attacks… and generate a scenario similar to what Colombia experienced in the 1990s,” adding that there could be “car bombs, assassinations, and attacks on airplanes.”
