'Eight-pointed star' appears in UFO files as Pentagon teases 'more fascinating information' to come

A recent video released by the Pentagon sparked a fascination with UFOs after showing a strange eight-pointed star moving across the sky.The infrared footage was released on Friday in government files related to unidentified flying objects ordered by US President Donald Trump.

According to the documents, the clip was recorded in 2013 by US Central Command personnel using “an infrared sensor aboard a US military platform.”The video lasts for approximately two minutes and shows a glowing, star-shaped object drifting and moving through the air. Officials did not specify what the item was.“This video depicts a contrasting area resembling an eight-pointed star with arms of alternating length,” reads the description accompanying the footage.

The Pentagon also included a disclaimer saying the description was intended only to provide context and should not be treated as evidence of anything unwarranted.“Readers should not interpret any part of this description to reflect an analytical judgment, the result of an investigation, or a factual determination,” the memo added. The footage formed part of a set of 162 files posted via the Pentagon’s newly launched website dedicated to unidentified flying objects and unexplained air incidents.

The disclosures include videos, photos and witness accounts associated with unidentified aerial phenomena, often referred to as UAPs.Among the materials published were photographs from the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 missions to the Moon in 1969 and 1972. The images appear to show unexplained objects on the surface of the moon, but they are not clear evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial life.An administration official told the New York Post that “more fascinating information” will be revealed in future rounds of disclosure. The release of the files follows an order Trump issued in February directing agencies to increase transparency about “extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”“While previous administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, President Trump is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public, which can ultimately make up its own mind about the information contained in these files,” the Pentagon said in a statement.Trump also commented on the release on Friday, saying the public should be allowed to draw its own conclusions from the newly released records.“In an effort to maximize and complete transparency, I have had the honor of directing my administration to identify and submit government files related to extraterrestrial life, unidentified atmospheric phenomena, and unidentified flying objects,” Trump said. The president added: “While previous administrations failed to be transparent on this topic, with these new documents and videos, people can decide for themselves, ‘What the hell is going on?’ Have fun and enjoy!
