A nearly decade-old Donald Trump tweet has resurfaced on social media, gaining new traction amid the ongoing Obama video row. The 2015 post, in which Trump attributed a controversial retweet to a “young intern,” was widely circulated by social media users.

The White House initially dismissed “fake outrage” over the video. However, it was later labeled as an error by a staff member. “A White House staffer made the post by mistake. It has been taken down,” a White House official told AFP.
Trump, speaking to the media, condemned the video but blamed an activist for posting it. Asked if he would apologise, the president said, “I did nothing wrong.”

Social Media Response:American film producer Franklin Leonard reposted the 2015 tweet and wrote, “He’s been using this excuse for over ten years and you’re still falling for it.”

Leonard’s post generated several reactions. One person wrote, “Good find. There’s always a tweet.”
Another commented, “Why don’t you give an inexperienced intern the password to the President of the United States’ social media accounts and free rein?” A third posted, “The problem is, now we can’t be sure who is posting on Trump’s account, which posts are made by Trump himself and which are made by staff or interns.”
