Pete HegsethThe US Secretary of War made headlines after he delivered a prayer at the Pentagon on Thursday, April 16, that looked like a scene from a movie. Pulp Fiction. The famous film produced in 1994, directed by: Quentin Tarantinofeatures a heroic moment Samuel L. Jackson Reciting a phony Bible verse, which Hegseth, 45, appears to paraphrase.
“Sandy 1, one of Sandy’s planes, said this prayer for all of Sandy’s crew, all of the A-10 aircrews, before all of the CSAR missions, especially this CSAR mission, which happened in real time,” Hegseth said, referring to Sandy 1’s rescue of the downed pilot in Iran.
“They call it CSAR 25:17, which I think is meant to mirror Ezekiel 25:17,” the former Fox News employee continued, acknowledging the scene in which Jackson appeared. Pulp Fiction The character, Jules Winfield, recites a supposed Bible verse just before shooting a group of men.

So, the prayer is CSAR 25:17 and it reads, and pray with me, please, “The path of the fallen pilot is surrounded on all sides by the injustice of selfish people and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of camaraderie and dutiful shepherds is lost through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and seeker of lost children,” said Hegseth. “And I will strike down upon you with great vengeance and fury those who attempt to seize and destroy my brother, and you will know that my call sign is Sandy 1 when I lay my vengeance upon you. Amen.”
Although Hegseth’s recitative was not entirely reflective Pulp Fiction The scene had some similarities. Jackson’s line from the movie goes: “The path of a good man is beset on all sides by the injustice of selfish people and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of goodness and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for truly he is his brother’s keeper and seeker of lost children.”
But the actual book says: “And I will take great vengeance on them with severe rebukes, and they will know that I am the Lord when I exact vengeance on them.”
