Singer Lizzo has sparked online controversy after the circulation of a TikTok video in which she appears to “defend” rapper Jay-Z and suggests that the latest part of the Epstein file may not be reliable.

Lizzo defended Jay-Z in the now-deleted TikTok video, arguing that the Epstein files should not be used to accuse individuals without context. (Reuters)Although the video has been widely circulated across platforms HT has not independently verified its authenticity. Several social media users claimed that the clip was later deleted amid backlash, but this has not been confirmed.

Lizo’s Viral Video: “Where’s the Crime?”In the video, Lizzo appears to express frustration at what he describes as drawing conclusions about public figures based on their names appearing in the so-called “Epstein file.”

Singer suggests that references alone should not be considered evidence of criminal wrongdoing and urges viewers to consider context.

In the video, Lizzo questions how Jay-Z’s name is being interpreted with Epstein-related documents.

“What did it do?” he asked [Epstein Files] Say Jay-Z? He was there in 1996. Come on, folks, you’re falling for it!

He further “defends” Jay-Z by saying, “He [Jeffrey Epstein] As Jay-Z once mentioned. He was like, ‘Oh, we can learn from Jay-Z’s business model.’

Lizzo also challenges what he sees as a lack of specific complaints associated with many of the names circulating online. “Where’s the crime? Focus,” he says in the clip.

Also, he appeared to push back against criticism regarding DD’s party and filmmaker Meera Nair, the mother of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, suggested that certain individuals were receiving unfair attention.

“You’re delusional! You just want Mamdani to be the bad guy,” he says.

He also indicated that just because a person’s name is mentioned in the Epstein files doesn’t make them an “associate.”

He says, “Just because one person’s name in the three-million-document file mentions the person who committed the crime and lived for decades, doesn’t mean that every person is an accomplice.”

“Here’s the crime @Lizzo”An X user attached the document to the FBI complaint against Jay-Z, which was revealed on January 30 among the 3 million Epstein files released by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

According to Jay Z’s complaint documents filed with the FBI, the incident took place in 1996. The victim claimed, “She later awoke to the presence of Harvey Weinstein and Sean Carter (Jay-Z) as Weinstein inserted his fingers…”
