A shooting reportedly occurred at an entertainment center in Christiansburg, Virginia, on Sunday. The incident reportedly occurred when a basketball game was being played in the town located in the southwestern part of Montgomery County.

“I can’t believe there was a fight and shooting at the Christiansburg Recreation Center tonight! Over a basketball game!!!” one person chanted on Facebook.
They added: “Seriously…how petty and irresponsible…we were literally there to play basketball before, and our kids played as kids…this is terrifying!”

The Christiansburg Police Department has not yet addressed the matter. No details are known about the suspect or if anyone was injured at this stage.

A number of people reacted to the news of the shooting there. One person claimed that the suspect had already been arrested, citing police scanners. “I saw that too!! And good! This is just crazy. There are so many kids!!!!”
The person who made the post also said that the basketball game where the fight allegedly broke out was in a “men’s league.” “We just left from a match there,” they added.

One person pointed out that there had been a huge children’s basketball tournament the day before. Another spoke about gun control and asked, “Do they have metal detectors? Can they ban guns?”
