China requires people at risk to undergo cancer screening

China’s Ministry of Health has urged people at potential risk to undergo cancer screenings as part of a broader campaign to improve prevention and control of the disease. People aged 50 and above, long-term smokers, those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or a family history of lung cancer are advised to undergo low-dose helical CT scans annually, Li Hai Zhao, head of the National Health Commission, said at a press conference on Saturday.

The Chinese government is developing a campaign to strengthen its comprehensive cancer prevention and control program by 2030.(Bloomberg)
