The fight over Candace Owens, Charlie Kirk, and Erica Kirk took another turn after political commentator Gammels shared a long post defending Turning Point USA’s leadership decision online.
Gammels wrote that people should stop treating TPUSA like “public property” and argued that Charlie Kirk built the organization himself and had confidence in the people around him before his death.
The post quickly gained attention after Candace Owens responded directly and raised questions about whether Charlie Kirk really wanted Erica Kirk to take over the organization.Candace Owens pointed to previous public comments where both Charlie Kirk and Erica Kirk spoke out against women climbing the corporate ladder.
For this reason, she said it was hard to believe that Charlie Kirk would suddenly change his position shortly before his death. She also questioned the allegations surrounding an alleged video message linked to the leadership announcement. In her response to X, Candace Owens wrote:“Charlie has repeatedly spoken out against women climbing the corporate ladder, even those with surviving husbands. Erika has repeatedly reinforced this position alongside him in multiple appearances.
Are we to believe that he suddenly pulled a radical 180 degrees two weeks before his death? You don’t understand why this is important? “Because if Charlie didn’t legally put her in charge through his corporate documents and wills — plus they lied about the existence of an original video, and instead she callously went out on an AI-generated audio clip to nicely accept his position — then we’re looking at the seeds of motive.”The comments immediately sparked controversy online, with supporters and critics reacting strongly to Owens’ claims.

Candace Owens continued her response by saying that the reported conversion did not make sense based on Charlie Kirk’s past beliefs and family situation.I wrote:“Apart from that, this hypothesis is simply ridiculous. There is no rational man in the world who would say: If I die in the job and leave my wife and children behind, please confirm my widowed wife to eighty hours a week, which is the dangerous position I once held, thus leaving my children virtually orphans.”The controversy quickly spread through political social media circles, with many users debating whether the organization had officially shown legal proof of Charlie Kirk’s wishes before Erika Kirk’s public appearance was linked to the announcement. To date, no public legal documents related to the succession discussion have been published. There is also no independently verified evidence substantiating the claims about the AI-generated voice by Candace Owens. TPUSA has not publicly responded in detail to Owens’ recent statements at the time of writing. The exchange has now turned into one of the largest online political debates about Turning Point USA since questions about its future leadership first emerged.
