Border Patrol agents reportedly opened fire on a moving vehicle during one of their raids in Laredo, Texas on Saturday. A video of the incident has been widely shared online. It comes amid an increased investigation into federal agents following the fatal shootings of Renee Goode and Alex Pretty in Minneapolis.

What to know about the incident in Laredo?The video shows the car going backwards and then forwards. Agents are seen shooting the car’s tires in an attempt to slow the car down. However, the vehicle sped away from the agents, the clip shows, prompting police to give the vehicle a chase.
DHS has not yet commented on the Laredo incident. The Laredo Police Department has not released a statement. However, a few hours ago, they posted a post that read: “Heavy law enforcement presence in the Mines Road area. There was a pursuit involving law enforcement from a different agency in the Mines Road area. The situation has been brought under control and there is no further risk to the neighborhood or residences. Thank you.”
Meanwhile, several expressed concern for the well-being of federal agents as news of the Laredo shooting began to spread. “Pray for our law enforcement,” one person commented. Another said, “Keep CBP safe.”
Yet another person commented, “The events are so recent and the protests are still going on, a shooting like this in Laredo, Texas would greatly increase tensions.”
