Britney gave birth to her first child, Sean Preston, on September 14, 2005, a year after the pop star married Kevin. When Sean was 5 months old, Britney was photographed driving with her son on her lap instead of in a group of cars, causing Britney to receive major backlash from the general public.
Sean and his little brother Jayden were less than two years old when Britney suffered a nervous breakdown in January 2007. Nine months later, Britney lost custody of her children to Kevin, who split from the singer in November 2006. A conservatorship was established over the singer in 2008, giving Britney and Kevin 50/50 custody of their children. However, this agreement changed in 2019 to 70/30, with Sean and Jayden spending most of their time living with their father.
In 2023, Kevin moved to Hawaii with Shawn and Jayden after Britney agreed to the move. Jayden described Jamie as an “idiot” and said “he’s a very big person”. He also said of his grandfather: “He could die.”
As for Sam, Britney’s youngest son revealed, “I love Sam. He’s good. He’s nice. He’s a really good guy.” He then shared some details about his mother’s singing career. “Actually, I haven’t seen her do much music at all. I don’t think so… I don’t know, dude,” Jayden said. “I don’t even know. I remember asking her one time, I was like, ‘Mom, what happened to your music?’ And she was like, ‘I don’t know, honey.’ I think I might stop doing that. I’m like, ‘What? What are you saying? Like, do you know how much money you’re making from that stuff?'”
Despite keeping their lives largely private, Britney has shared some public moments with her sons over the years. She brought Shawn and Jayden to the 2013 movie premiere The Smurfs 2where they walked the red carpet together and appeared in her “Ooh La La” music video for the film.
The singer also sometimes posted about her children on social media. She shared photos with them from a family trip to Hawaii in 2018 and another outing at Disneyland in 2019, though she said she tries not to post too much because they prefer privacy as they get older.
