An explosion rocked a religious center belonging to the minority Shia community during Friday prayers in Pakistan’s capital.
Meanwhile, police and rescue workers have reached the spot and are carrying out rescue operations. The injured have been sent to PIMS and polyclinics for treatment, reports said.
Islamabad police spokesman Taqi Jawad said the nature of the blast was unclear, adding that authorities were trying to determine whether it was a suicide attack or a bomb.
The latest incident comes nearly three months after a suicide blast outside a district court in Islamabad in November last year. 12 people were killed in the explosion.
