A top banker with royal connections has been arrested in connection with the long-unsolved Putney Boucher case, nearly a decade after he pushed a woman into the path of an oncoming bus in London.The 44-year-old was held in custody for £1. 4 million home in west London on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. He is known to be a manager in a private bank and a former British Army officer who served in several major conflicts.A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “On Monday 15 June, a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. He was taken into police custody, where he remains.”

The bus driver, Oliver Salberis, was able to apply the brakes in time, avoiding the fatal collision. The woman survived the accident without serious injury, while the runner continued crossing the bridge without stopping.The footage went viral. Investigators later interviewed about 50 men and arrested three suspects over time.In 2018, the investigation was closed without charges being brought, and the case became one of the most popular unsolved incidents in Britain.The latest arrest has revived interest in the case, with the Daily Mail reporting that the suspect has links to prominent European royal families, including the Windsor family, although police have not commented on the allegations.He is also understood to have worked in senior financial positions in the city, advising wealthy clients and institutions.
