3 people killed in a massive fire in west London; Firefighters battled the inferno for more than two hours

Three men have died after a major fire broke out in a single-storey suite in White City, west London, on Saturday evening, according to the London Fire Brigade (LFB).Firefighters pulled the three men from the burning building on New Zealand Road after the fire broke out shortly before 7pm local time.

Two of the victims were declared dead at the scene, while the third was taken to the hospital, where he later died of his wounds.

100 firefighters and 15 vehicles were deployed

The LFB launched a large-scale emergency response, sending about 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines to tackle the blaze. Crews from North Kensington, Acton, Chiswick and nearby fire stations were mobilized after several emergency calls reported the incident.Firefighters were able to control the blaze by 9.25pm, but not before it had destroyed more than half the wing.

The cause is under investigation

LFB Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulburn confirmed specialist fire investigators were working alongside the Metropolitan Police to establish the cause of the fire.“Sadly, three people died as a result of a fire on New Zealand Road in the White City,” Goulburn said. “The fire involved a single-storey wing, damaging just over half the building.”

Police are working to identify the victims

The Metropolitan Police said officers attended the scene and are assisting with the ongoing investigation. The authorities are also working to identify the victims and officially inform their families.The incident occurred near Loftus Road, the home stadium of Queens Park Rangers Football Club, sparking a major emergency response and local interest.
