CHENNAI: Australian pace legend Glenn McGrath has heaped praise on teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, comparing his batting style to some of the greatest names in cricket. McGrath, who is the director of coaching at MRF Pace, said Sooryavanshi’s fearless style and signature back raise reminded him most of West Indies legends Brian Lara and Gary Sobers.“You probably look at someone like Brian Lara with that back lift. If you look back, Gary Sobers is another guy that comes to mind,” McGrath said on the sidelines of the training session.

McGrath admitted that he was amazed by the youngster’s exploits in the IPL. “He was unbelievable. Players usually have more fours than sixes, but he had 72 sixes and 63 fours. He’s obviously a powerful batsman and he definitely changed the game.” “They have no fear, do they? They don’t care whether it’s true or not. Or not.”
