Contributing author of two books Noam Chomsky has Wrote a letter Condemning acclaimed scholar’s friendship with late sex offender Jeffrey Epsteinthe newly released files shed light on the social relationship between the two men.

Vijay Prasad – journalist, author and director of the Tricontinental Institute for Social Research – wrote that he was “heartbroken” by the new matter. Correspondence between Chomsky and Epstein.

“When the photos and emails surfaced, I was immediately disgusted by Epstein’s pedophilia and Noam’s friendship with him,” he wrote Tuesday. “There is no defense, in my view, no context to explain this outrage.”

Prasad claims to have co-authored two books with Chomsky. The second of them is Chomsky’s most recent and final book.

Prasad explains in his letter that he was unaware of the friendship between Epstein and Chomsky while working with Chomsky.

Chomsky, 97, has not spoken about the release of the latest document. The renowned linguist had known Epstein in the past, but claimed that their relationship revolved mainly around financial transactions.

When asked Harvard Crimson In 2023, if he regretted meeting Epstein, he responded: “I met [all] A wide variety of people, including major war criminals. I don’t regret meeting any of them.

Prasad acknowledges Chomsky’s age limitations on any new interpretation. “Since Noam cannot speak or write and explain his relationship with Epstein, the subject is fraught,” Prasad wrote.

The Recent disclosures The document builds on earlier revelations about the close social ties between Chomsky and Epstein. In one of the recently revealed messages, Chomsky informed Epstein that he was “fantasizing about a Caribbean island.”

There is no indication that Chomsky specifically mentioned Epstein’s private Caribbean island, where children were allegedly sexually abused.

In late February 2019, Epstein told an associate that he had received advice from Chomsky on how to navigate “the horrible way you’re dealing with the press and the public.”

11 years after Epstein pleaded guilty to procuring a person under 18 for prostitution — and months before he reportedly died by suicide while in federal custody awaiting sex-trafficking charges.

“The best way to ignore it,” Chomsky wrote, according to a text Epstein sent to a lawyer and publicist signed with his first name. “This is especially true now with the hysteria that has developed about the harassment of women, which has reached the point where even questioning the charge is a crime worse than murder.”

The recipient of that email, Matthew Hiltzik, wrote back: “I think that’s brilliant.”

Neither Chomsky nor his second wife and spokeswoman, Valeria Chomsky, immediately responded to questions about the Epstein-related emails — including whether they disputed the authenticity of the 2019 advice attributed to Nome.

Chomsky is Professor Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Beginning in October 2023, he will be on unpaid medical leave from his role as a laureate professor of linguistics at the University of Arizona, a school spokeswoman said Monday.

Epstein’s case gained heightened interest after his former friend Donald Trump promised to release a full list of Epstein’s clients when he successfully runs for a second term in the White House in 2024. However, Trump invited bipartisan political pressure when his administration announced that no such list existed.

Congress later passed a bill ordering Trump’s Justice Department to release more Epstein files than it had previously released. A portion of those documents released Friday contained additional details about Chomsky’s correspondence with Epstein.
