Police said the two minors were taken into custody on Friday, and an in-depth investigation is underway.

According to officials, the accident occurred on Thursday evening when jeweler Jatin Adisara was driving his car back to Morbi from Rajkot, the Times of India reported. He had traveled there with his wife to bring his sister home before the “large” ceremony scheduled for the next day. At around 10pm, while commuting on Shanala Road, Adisara found his path blocked by two boys riding a motorcycle who allegedly refused to give way.

Thinking they would eventually move aside, Adisara continued to blow the horn. Instead, the two suddenly stopped midway and started abusing him. The two men confronted Adisara, pulled him from his car by the collar, and attacked him, police said. The report stated that one of the boys stabbed him repeatedly while the other grabbed him before they both fled on their scooters.

Adisara, who was bleeding heavily from stab wounds to his chest and back, was able to call his older brother, Molek, when the altercation broke out. Mullick rushed him to Krishna Hospital, where Adisara reportedly told family members the nicknames the attackers had used for each other. Despite medical efforts, he died of his wounds.

Police said Adisara’s wife, sister and another relative remained inside the car during the confrontation, as they did not expect the dispute to turn violent.

Adesara co-managed the jewelery business with his brother in Soni Bazaar and lived with his family on Satyampan Street. His death left the family devastated, including his 11-month-old daughter, the report said.

R S Patel, inspector at Morbi A police station, said initial findings indicated there was no motive behind the altercation itself, describing it as a clear case of road rage. Morbi Superintendent of Police Mukesh Patil said that the accused are Class XII students, one of whom is scheduled to turn 18 in a week. He added that the father of one of the boys works in animal husbandry, while the father of the other has a criminal record related to ban cases.
