MI vs RCB Live Score, IPL 2026: The spotlight is firmly on Virat Kohli versus Rohit Sharma as Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Mumbai Indians in a marquee match of the IPL at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. The encounter brings together two of the greats of modern Indian cricket, as they go from popular partners to fierce rivals.

The Rohit-Kohli tandem, once the backbone of India’s batting across formats, now operates as ODI-only stalwarts. Their fanbases, which have dwindled in recent times, are expected to reignite the classic IPL-era rivalry, enthusiastically backing their favorites in a high-stakes contest.

Both MI and RCB go into the match looking for redemption after being outclassed by Rajasthan Royals teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. MI are under pressure after two successive defeats, while RCB look to rediscover their winning rhythm after the away setback.

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan believes the contest could be decided in the final. “RCB are traveling now. When they played their first two matches at home, they won comfortably, but the moment they went on the road, they lost in Guwahati to Rajasthan Royals. So, there will be some questions in the camp. I feel the match may be decided by which team plays better in the end, and the draw will be an important factor as well. RCB has the form, but in the man-to-man comparison, I feel Mumbai are a little ahead,” he said.

RCB’s batting has been outstanding, with Rajat Patidar, Devdutt Padikkal and Tim David scoring over 200 runs this season. In contrast, MI relied heavily on Rohit, while their bowling unit struggled, with several bowlers conceding at high economy rates.

Historically, MI leads the head-to-head record, but RCB have won three of the last five encounters. Adding another layer to the contest is the Kohli vs. Jasprit Bumrah match, where both players have enjoyed success against each other.

As star power, narrative and format collide, only one side will emerge stronger in what promises to be a decisive conflict.
