Ranveer Singh's 'Pralay' signs on with 'Narcos' cinematographer Juan Carlos Gil after Vikrant Massey's 'White'

Ranveer Singh’s big-budget zombie thriller ‘Pralay’ has signed up Narcos cinematographer Juan Carlos Gil, who also shot Vikrant Massey’s political drama ‘White’. Both films aim for a universal and wide-ranging visual treatment. ‘Pralay’ follows the success of Ranveer’s Dhurandhar, while ‘White’, inspired by the life of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is being released in over 100 countries.

Interestingly, these two upcoming major films will be directed by the same international cinematographer. Reports suggest that Juan Carlos Gil, who was celebrated as the COO of Netflix’s global hit Narcos and Vikrant Massey’s large-scale political drama ‘White’, has now joined Ranveer Singh’s mega-budget venture ‘Pralay’.

The Pralay team is looking forward to a Hollywood-style visual treatment

According to Bollywood Hungama, the ‘Pralay’ team is mounting the film on a lavish scale and wants it to get a Hollywood-style visual treatment. Juan Carlos Gil fits the bill perfectly. He’s equally excited to be on board, while the team is thrilled to have him film this ambitious zombie film.

Ranveer’s big follow-up to ‘Dhurandhar’

‘Pralay’ has generated huge anticipation, not only being a big budget zombie thriller but also marking Ranveer’s next outing after the huge success of ‘Dhurandhar’.

The film is directed by Jay Mehta and co-produced by Birla Studios and Hansal Mehta.

About “White” and its real-life inspiration

‘White’ is a big political drama based on a true story from the life of spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. It narrates how Colombia’s civil war, the longest in the world, ended without a single shot being fired, with the help of ancient Indian teachings and Gurudev’s own efforts.

Vikrant Massey’s role and the global size of the film

Vikrant takes over the role of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in the film, with a major portion of the shooting completed in South America along with an international cast and crew. The project is backed by Siddharth Anand (War, Pathaan, King), producer Mahaveer Jain, and PeaceCraft Pictures, and is directed by renowned ad filmmaker Montu Passi. ‘White’ is set to hit screens in over 100 countries in multiple languages, as it looks to connect with audiences on a global scale.
