Rajpal Yadav was in the news after he was sent to Tihar Jail in a Rs 9 crore debt case. The actor is now out on bail while the matter is still in court. The actor will next be seen in Bhooth Bangla alongside Akshay Kumar. Rajpal promoted the film along with Akshay and director Priyadarshan. In a recent interview, Akshay reacted to Rajpal’s case while recalling the advice the deceased had given him
Asrani
. For those who don’t know, Asrani passed away in October last year and his last two films were with Akshay and Priyadarshan.
The late actor will also be seen in ‘Bhooth Bangla’. Akshay recalls Asrani once advising him against producing films. The ‘Khiladi’ actor said in an interview with Screen, “I have done a lot of films with him. In his last days, he shared some things from his life with me. He talked about the time when he faced the biggest pressure of his life. He told me, ‘Never produce a film.’ He said, ‘Akshay, never produce a film. It was the biggest mistake of my life when I put in my own money.’
When you make a film with someone else’s money, that’s fine, the risk and profits are theirs, and when you think about making more for yourself by investing your own money, it’s never right for you. He produced a film and faced huge losses. It was a good movie, but it didn’t work. He said he lost his savings because of this. So tell me never to produce by investing your own money.

I told him: Don’t produce films. We are actors and producers who know how to produce a movie, so you shouldn’t try to be a producer when you don’t know the trick. If you’re an actor, you should stay an actor. Don’t think about making money in a hurry through shortcuts. I hope Rajpal comes out of this situation completely.
What an actor! When people give 100%, he gives 120-140%. It’s very fun to work with him.
Our banter comes so naturally that sometimes the line is not in the script, and when we make it up and show it to him (Priyadarshan), he likes it.Director Priyadarshan, who was also part of this interview, added: “I have done 98 films, and never produced a film. Most successful directors produce their own films straight away. I do a lot of physical comedy with Rajpal. In Bhoot Bangla, Akshay and Rajpal are like Tom and Jerry.”
