ETimes review of “Raakaasa”

ETimes gave it just 2.5 stars and our review said: “The second half moves more forcefully into supernatural thriller territory, as the story unfolds its core conflict. While this stretch offers some better comedic moments, it also feels predictable, following a well-worn path of curses and sacrifices.”

The supporting cast, including Tanikella Bharani, Brahmaji and Ashish Vidyarthi, suit their roles well but don’t have enough to do.

Our review adds: “Getup Srinu and Vennela Kishore’s comedy stands out and adds some much-needed energy. However, the film doesn’t build enough tension or emotional weight to elevate its central premise. The visual effects, crucial to the setting, are disappointing and take away from the overall impact.”Despite its mix of genres and some engaging moments, the film settles into a familiar groove. It remains a convenient one-off watch that is entertaining in parts but does not leave a lasting impression.”Although it may not set the box office on fire, the film provides light-hearted entertainment for audiences looking for a mix of comedy and mild thrills.Disclaimer: Box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
