Christie is a politician who served as the eighth Secretary of Homeland Security of the United States under Donald. She assumed the position on January 25, 2025, after Senate confirmation by a vote of 59 to 34. She was released from the Department of Homeland Security in March 2026.
Prior to her appointment to the Department of Homeland Security, Christie served as the 33rd Governor of South Dakota from 2019 to 2025, becoming the state’s first female governor. She previously represented South Dakota’s at-large congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019 and served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011.
