KOTA, The competitive edge in the house of identical twins Mahroof Ahmad Khan and Masroor Ahmad Khan came to an end as they both scored identical marks of 285 in JEE Main, scoring 99.998 percentile.

The twins from Bhubaneswar, students of Allen Career Institute here, appeared for JEE Main 2026 in the same shift and for the same position.
The exam results were announced on Monday.
Born on May 7, 2008, the brothers studied together all the time, from school to training classes.
According to their training institute, their mother, Dr Zeenat Begum, was a gynecologist working with the Odisha government since the 1990s, before she resigned to move with them to Kota in 2023.
“We moved to Kota in 2023, initially to prepare for the Olympiad after the two brothers qualified for the International Science Olympiad. They later decided to pursue JEE coaching,” Begum said.
She said the brothers achieved high achievements throughout, with Mahroof achieving 95.2 per cent and Masroor 97.2 per cent in the 10th grade. They also won nearly 40 medals at national and international Olympics.
The twins followed similar study strategies and schedules, often competing against each other on exams. If one of them scores lower, they motivate and help each other in analyzing mistakes to improve in subsequent exams.
“They had interest in mathematics from the beginning, so they chose to study engineering instead of medicine. They aspire to pursue B.Tech in computer science at IIT Bombay. Their priority is computer science,” she said.
Beyond academics, karate captured the brothers’ childhood interest, Begum said.
The twins are now preparing for the JEE Advanced exam. Their father is also a doctor and is currently working in Odisha.
