20th anniversary of ‘Fanaa’: Kajol contemplates shooting film in minus 27 degree temperature in Poland
Kajol celebrated the 20th anniversary of ‘Fanaa’ by looking back at one of the toughest shots of the film. The actor recalled filming in freezing weather in Poland, where the temperature dropped to minus 27 degrees Celsius on the first day.
She also recalled that she wore a thin chiffon shirt on a frozen lake while Aamir Khan wore a thick jacket during the shoot.

According to ANI, Kajol shared the memory while reflecting on the 2006 film “Fanaa” in which she starred opposite Aamir Khan. The film brought the actors together in a romantic drama directed by Kunal Kohli. Kajol played Zoni, a visually impaired Kashmiri woman, while Aamir played Rehan, a tour guide with a dangerous secret.Kajol described Zuni as special and wrote that the role stayed with her because she had to be herself without glasses. She also spoke about the harsh weather while filming the song. “20 years on the patio… my daughter was two and a half years old,” she wrote, adding: “What I remember most is Poland in all its glory… -27°C, beautiful forests and sleds… used on the sidewalks…! And of course the fact that I wore thin trousers and shirts while most other people were wearing goose down clothes.”

Kajol also revealed that the song, which was shot in Poland, did not make it to the final version in this form. The team later scrapped it and re-shot it in Mumbai. She described these details as the “cherry on top” of the experience. She also praised the actresses who film in difficult conditions to maintain their appearance on screen.
