New Delhi: Delhi Capitals registered their highest successful run chase in IPL history against Rajasthan Royals on Friday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur to end their hat-trick of defeats in IPL 2026.
DC chased down a record 226 in just 19.1 minutes to collect two well-deserved points.The win moves DC to sixth place in the IPL 2026 points table with 8 points from nine matches, ahead of Chennai Super Kings, who play Mumbai Indians at home on Saturday.RR’s erratic campaign continued as they suffered their fourth defeat in 10 matches. Despite the loss, RR remained in fourth place in the standings, but their net run rate (NRR) dropped to +0.510.Punjab Kings maintained the lead with 13 points from 8 matches, followed by defending champion Royal Challengers Bengaluru in second place with 12 points from nine matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad are third with NRR ahead of RR, as the three teams – RCB, SRH and RR, have 12 points each.The Gujarat Titans team is in fifth place with 10 points, as it advances towards the playoff positions while strengthening its position in the middle of the table. GT has closed the gap on fourth-placed RR to just two points and is two points ahead of DC.
The rest of the table remains unchanged. CSK is in seventh place with six points, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders in eighth place with five points. While the Mumbai Indians team ranks ninth with four points, slightly ahead of the Lucknow Super Giants team, which is in last place in the National Football League.As the league stage enters a decisive phase, the qualifying race heats up. DC kept themselves in contention with a crucial win over RR on Friday.
