As you’ve surely heard by now, Britney Spears was arrested for drunk driving this week.

Britney was only in police custody for a few hours, but it looks like her legal troubles are just beginning.

According to a new report from TMZ, pills were found in Britney’s car when it was stopped.

The police are now testing these pills to determine their chemical composition.

Now, if no illicit substances are found, Brett will likely not end up serving any prison time.

After all, this is her first DUI offense, and although she has had brushes with the law previously, she has never been convicted of any crimes.

Typically, first offenders are not forced to serve time. But if Britney was in possession of controlled substances at the time of her arrest, that’s a different story.

Britney recently took a trip to Mexico, and insiders tell TMZ she took Adderall while there.

If the pills turn out to contain pure Adderall, Ms. Spears is safe.

But if the pills were adulterated in any way — a common practice in Mexican pharmacies — Brett could be in trouble.

Whatever the case, she’s scheduled to be back in court in May, and at that time, she’ll enter her plea to the DUI charge — and any additional charges she may face.

As TMZ points out, Britt has been to rehab before, and this incident may be enough to inspire her to check back.

Her blood test showed a BAC level of 0.06, below the legal limit of 0.08.

But police say Britney was driving recklessly, and the pills may be taken as evidence that there were other substances in her system in addition to alcohol.

“This was an unfortunate incident and is absolutely inexcusable. Britney will take the right steps and abide by the law and we hope this is the first step in the long overdue change that needs to happen in Britney’s life,” Britney’s manager, Cade Hudson, told TMZ.

“We hope you can get the help and support you need during this difficult time.”

We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.
