During Season 3, Episode 2, titled “America My Dream,” Zendaya once again shared the screen with her former on-screen father, Kadeem Hardison. However, this time, it’s safe to say that the setting was less kid-friendly.
Zendaya and Hardison starred together for the first time in the Disney Channel show, KC Confidentialwhich ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2018. In the series, the Emmy Award winner plays KC Cooper, a high school tech expert and karate black belt who discovers that her parents are secret spies and expect her to follow in their footsteps. Hardison plays her father, Craig Cooper.
Years later, they reunited but in more mature roles. in trance In season three, Hardison plays Big Eddy, who helps run operations at Alamo Brown’s (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) strip club Silver Slipper. His character interacts with Zendaya’s club street when she goes to work for the Alamo to pay off massive debts owed to her former drug dealer, Lori (Martha Kelly).
“Glad you all enjoyed the reunion… always great sharing the screen with a friend,” Hardison wrote on Instagram (below) after the new one. trance The episode premiered on Sunday. “If you’re watching, you already know. Wear maroon specs.”
the KC Confidential The connection wasn’t the only subtle nod fans noticed from the latest episode. Hardison’s signature glasses, first made famous by his memorable role as Dwayne Wayne on the ’80s and ’90s sitcom. A different worldHe also made a cameo.
As the season continues, and Zendaya’s Rue finds herself more entangled in the dangerous Alamo empire, I’m sure fans can expect more interactions between her and Hardison’s character, and perhaps other spectacles appearing as well.
