Aditya Uppal, who played Omar Hameed in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, calls himself a Sanjay Dutt fan since the VCR days. Intimidated but fascinated by Dutt’s support on set – from first meeting Amritsar to improving freedom – he dreams of his next star.

Aditya Uppal, who recently shared screen space with Sanjay Dutt in ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, has named the one actor he would like to collaborate with next. In a recent interview, the actor spoke about his time working alongside Dutt.

Aditya Uppal talks about working with Sanjay Dutt

Speaking to India Today, Uppal spoke about working with Sanjay, citing the natural pressure of sharing the screen with such a legendary figure. “You’re obviously intimidated. He’s a big actor, a name we’ve all grown up watching. But the beauty of Sanjay sir is that he makes everything so relaxed. He brings with him a certain charm that instantly lightens the atmosphere on the set.” According to Uppal, Dutt’s atmosphere enhanced his performance.

“It creates a space where you can stay in character, play, and even improvise. It really allows you to be yourself,” he said.

Sharing screen space and dialogues with him was really special,” Uppal said. Pointing out a memorable event, Uppal said, “Even during close-ups, he chose to stay back and do the scene with me instead of walking away and using a stunt double. This kind of support means a lot, especially for someone like me.

Aditya Uppal meets Sanjay Dutt for the first time

Describing their first meeting, Uppal said it happened on set due to time constraints. “I was selected at the last minute, and my first meeting with him was right in Amritsar during Hamza’s party scene. I remember touching his feet and frankly telling him that I was one of his biggest fans, someone who grew up watching his films on VCRs. I told him how much I admired his work, especially Sadiq and Saajan. That’s how the conversation started, and from there, everything became very easy,” he said.
