While an official cause of death has not yet been announced, Chase died of meningitis and blood infections, which led to septic issues and the eventual shutdown of her body, her boyfriend, Roy HernandezHe said TMZ On June 17, 2026.

Meningitis is a condition in which fluids and membranes in the brain become inflamed. According to the Mayo Clinic, viral, bacterial and fungal infections can cause meningitis. Patients with the disease usually need prompt treatment.

Symptoms of meningism include headache, fever, neck stiffness, nausea or vomiting, confusion, seizures, fatigue, sensitivity to light and an unwillingness to eat or drink anything, according to the Mayo Clinic.

What happened to Davy Chase before she died?

Over the past few years, Chase has had a few run-ins with the drug crime law. Her friend admitted on the GoFundMe page that Chase had a “difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family,” adding that she “struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown Los Angeles.”

“When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserves,” Hernandez continued. “Together we found moments of happiness and hope.”
