Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent trip to Australia sparked controversy, with insiders indicating that the visit did not go well with the royal family back home.
The couple’s casual tour has been described as causing major ire from The Firm, with sources close to Buckingham Palace reportedly using the phrase “very obscene” to describe the way the Duke and Duchess behaved during their time Down Under.According to the Daily Express, the Palace has taken particular issue with what has been described as “royal tour choreography” being used for commercial purposes. “In a world where King Charles III is head of state, there is so much publicity for their commercial endeavours,” the report said.
“The whole point of being a royal is that they do it for others and for public service, not for their bank balance.”
What Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly got from their Australia trip
Financial expert Ted Jenkin, managing partner of Exit Wealth Advisors, claimed the couple brought in a large sum from the visit. “Meghan and Harry can make money from audience aggregation, premium reach, and brand leverage,” he told Page Six. “In total, this tour could bring in $10 million or more for Meghan and Harry.
Anytime these two appear in the public eye, a gushing cash register usually follows.
Meghan Markle is thrilled, while Prince Harry is said to be uncomfortable
Interestingly, the two are said to have had very different reactions to the financial outcome of the trip. According to the News, Meghan is said to be happy with what they have earned. The source said: “She’s one of those people who is very driven to achieve her goals; success is a huge addiction for her. Money has been a worry for her lately, so this infusion of cash is a big win, and she’s proud of it.”Harry, on the other hand, is said to be less comfortable talking about money. “For Harry, this is actually uncomfortable. He’s learned never to talk about money,” the same insider claimed. “The fact that she talks so much about numbers rubs him the wrong way. He finds it very inappropriate.”With Buckingham Palace reportedly angry, and the couple themselves seemingly at loggerheads over how they feel about the outcome of the trip, the Australia visit appears to have created friction on more than one front for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
