'Bhoot Bangla': Akshay Kumar starrer gets UA rating from CBFC ahead of April 10 theatrical release - Deets Inside

Akshay Kumar’s Bhoot Bangla (dir. Priyadarshan) has rated UA 16. A family horror comedy that reunites the duo after 15 years, starring Tabu, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav. Humming teaser. Akshay praises the success of Dhurandhar 2: “Great for the industry, ours is for children, theirs is for adults.”

The much-anticipated ‘Bhoot Bangla’, helmed by Akshay Kumar alongside Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and others, will hit theaters on April 10, 2026. This project reunites the popular duo of Priyadarshan-Akshay Kumar after more than a decade.

The film has now received CBFC certification before its release.

Bhoot Bangla has received a UA 16 rating amid box office struggle

According to News18, the horror-comedy has received a UA 16 rating from the Central Board of Film Certification. ‘Bhoot Bangla’ is hitting the screens amid ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge”s continued dominance at the box office, yet Akshay Kumar and the crew of the horror-comedy remain unfazed.

‘Bhoot Bangla’ family appeal for adult work

In an interview with IANS, Akshay discussed the release of ‘Bhoot Bangla’ immediately after ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and said, ‘Bhoot Bangla is for a wider audience, including children and families.

Wo realistic film par hai, wo action hai, aur wo adult film hai. What a family movie. Hamare liye toh bohot achchii baat hai ki saari filmein chale, Industry ke liye achi baat hai.”

‘Bhoot Bangla’ hails Dhurandhar’s success

Praising ‘Dhurandhar 2’, he said, “I am very happy that Dhurandhar is doing well and attracting such a large audience. This film has taken Hindi cinema to a new level, which is very encouraging. Usually three weeks are enough, and here we are talking about 21 days… This is good for the industry and also gives you opportunities to do more interviews.”

If the films were not successful, there would be no platform for such interactions.
