British citizens traveling to Saudi Arabia will be able to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) from 1 July 2026, under a new entry system announced by the Kingdom’s Foreign Office. The new service will be available to holders of all types of British passports who visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the purpose of tourism, work or short-term study, according to the Saudi Press Agency.Under this program, travelers can stay in the Kingdom for up to 180 consecutive days within a period of one year. The ETA also allows multiple entries with a single electronic license. The Foreign Office said the move reflects the long-standing relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, and follows travel facilitation measures previously introduced by the United Kingdom for Saudi citizens.Officials explained that the electronic arrival permit cannot be used to work or reside in Saudi Arabia and does not replace the visas required for Hajj. The ministry said that the initiative aims to facilitate travel between the two countries while supporting tourist, commercial and educational visits.
