“I’m the first trans woman to host the Met Gala, so this is a big moment.”

This is what the famous model Alex Consani said while speaking with La La Anthony during the party Vogue magazine Live stream the Met Gala on Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Consani made the most of her historic moment as the first transgender co-chair by hitting the beige carpet in a Gucci dress and white cape designed by the house’s creative director, Demna, who was reportedly inspired by Sandro Botticelli’s Primavera.

Konsani stepped out on the carpet, wearing a luxurious abaya that revealed bare shoulders. In a dramatic moment, Konsani then removed the gown to reveal a sheer bustier (revealing her breasts) paired with a skirt and train covered in black feathers.

In an interview with Vogue magazineKonsani said she sent Dinma some references for Gucci’s look and they talked a little about how they both wanted it to feel. “At his first show, we had a conversation about what I wanted, and he was really receptive to making it happen,” she said. “I immediately felt like a different bitch – I feel like Natalie Portman, a little Tilda Swinton mix. I think there’s just the energy of the actress that she puts into me.”

She spoke about that energy during the live stream by telling Anthony that the collection was a “culmination” of feathers, tinsel, and “good energy and good vibes.” When asked how she’s able to be her “unapologetic” self by Anthony, Konsani said the key is keeping good people close — and good heels.

“I have a lot of support at home,” she said. “I have a lot of support from my friends who I have made an important part of my life.” “That’s what it’s about, making sure you surround yourself with people who love you. And also, like, wear high heels. No shade. Put your heels on. It does a lot. You’d all be surprised. Girls who walk around in loafers and say, ‘Why can’t I feel it?’ Put your heels on, baby.”
