Mumbai, June 12 (IANS) Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has explained why the term ‘failed actor’ was used for him in his upcoming film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has explained why he used the term ‘failed actor’ in his upcoming film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.The actor attended the trailer launch of his upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle in the city on Thursday.The actor spoke to the media on the sidelines of the trailer launch.When asked why the filmmakers saw fit to use the expression on his behalf, the actor said the phrase should be seen in the context of the film and not as a personal remark.“We were not told that you have to use such dialogues as sarcasm. So, when you watch a film, I am sure you are an intelligent person. Whenever you watch a film, you watch it according to the character of the film,” Akshay Kumar told the media.
So, please, thank you for feeling bad about this. But don’t take it too seriously.”Elsewhere during the event, the star, whose romance with actress Raveena Tandon during the 1990s received much public attention, spoke about the actress.The actor shared how times have changed as his former love interest used to rule Bollywood as a heroine but now she has become the heroine’s mother. The star mentioned Raveena’s daughter Isha Thadani.
Akshay Kumar also praised Raveena Tandon’s professionalism and strong morals, with the former saying, “I want to tell you about Raveena that she was very professional. I still remember, I was shooting a film where the sun was about to set. And when the sun was about to set, there were only 25-30 minutes. The green room was very far away and she had to change quickly and she had to change and come. It was impossible. But I still remember, I went to the generator truck and so quickly he changed and he came.
““A lot of changes have happened. She (Raveena Tandon) is a great actress. Another thing has changed. Earlier she was a heroine, and now she is the heroine’s mother,” he added.
