The build-up to the fifth and final T20I match between India and England at the Rose Bowl in Southampton took an unusual turn on Saturday after the Indian team was delayed in traffic, forcing a change in the pre-match schedule. While India had not yet been on the field, England’s players made the most of extra time by participating in a relaxing game of rondos, a popular football drill used by many sports teams to improve quick passing, movement and reflexes.

The hosts appeared relieved despite the unexpected delay, as the players enjoyed a warm-up session while waiting for the visitors to arrive on the field. Videos from the ground showed England cricketers exchanging quick passes in a tight circle, a routine that has become a common feature of football training sessions and is also used by cricket teams to increase coordination before matches. The delay occurred after the Indian team bus got stuck in traffic on its way to the Rose Bowl. As a result, the draw, originally scheduled before 7:00 PM EST, was postponed by 30 minutes. Officials later confirmed that the draw will take place at 7:15 PM IST, with the match scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST.WATCH: England players enjoy a game of rondo football while waiting for India’s late arrival at the Rose Bowl

Once the Indian team reached the venue, preparations picked up speed.

Captain Shreyas Iyer was seen walking onto the field carrying his bat and gloves for a short training session, while all-rounder Suryansh Chedge was seen signaling his preparations, sparking speculation that he could feature in the starting XI. There were also signs that India might make some changes after a disappointing series.England enter the match with an unassailable 3-0 lead after losing the opener and will aim to complete a 4-0 win. Meanwhile, India will be looking to avoid whitewash and end a tough tour on a positive note.
