New Delhi: Virat Kohli has been named in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming tour of England after missing the Afghanistan series due to injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad on Sunday.
However, Virat Kohli’s participation in the much-awaited ODI series is subject to fitness clearance.India will play the three ODIs against England at Edgbaston (July 14), Sophia Gardens (July 16) and Lord’s (July 19). Jasprit Bumrah has also returned to the ODI setup. The fast bowler was rested for both the single Test and the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan as part of the BCCI’s workload management plan. Kohli suffered a hamstring injury during the IPL 2026 final and was later ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan. All-rounder Axar Patel has returned to the ODI team after missing the Afghanistan series. However, Yashavi Jaiswal and Mohammed Siraj were not included in the squad for the England tour.Jurnor Brar retained his place in the team. Meanwhile, Prince Yadav missed the match, with Harshit Rana returning to the side. The BCCI also said that Varun Chakaravarthy is in the final stages of recovery from a foot injury he sustained during IPL 2026 and will therefore miss the T20I series in Ireland.
