Rondell Moore reached out to Chiefs Hollywood star Brown hours before death: ‘You weren’t alone’

Minnesota Vikings player Rondell Moore has died at the age of 25.

New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said Moore was found in a parking garage with what authorities believe was a gunshot wound.

“The New Albany Police Department is conducting a death investigation at 1611 Ekin Av in New Albany. Rondell Moore (25) was found dead in the garage of a property with a suspected gunshot wound,” the New Albany Police Department said in a statement.

“The New Albany Police Department is currently investigating the incident. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no additional information will be released at this time,” the statement added.

The Floyd County coroner said an autopsy has been scheduled.

The greetings are flowing

Kansas City Chiefs star Marquis “Hollywood” Brown revealed that Moore sent him a message just hours before his death.

“My brother is by no means my brother, you just texted me a few hours ago,” the Chiefs receiver wrote on X. “You weren’t alone bro.. I told you I know how you feel.”

Brown and Moore were teammates with the Arizona Cardinals from 2022-2023.

Tyrone Tracy Jr., a New York Giants player, also said he recently spoke with Moore: “No way, man!! I just talked to you. This just broke my heart. It tore me apart.”

Moore’s former coach at Purdue University, Jeff Brohm, issued a statement remembering his former player: “Rondell Moore was an absolute joy to coach. The ultimate competitor who would never back down from a challenge. Rondell had a work ethic that was unmatched by anyone. A great teammate who could come through in any situation. We all loved Rondell and loved his smile and competitiveness that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with. We offer all of our thoughts and prayers to Rondell and his family and we love him so much!!!”
