New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) president Javed Ahmad Kuttab has been suspended with immediate effect after the JKCA passed a unanimous resolution in favor of the move.The resolution was finalized on June 25 and was approved by a vote of 8-0.
According to the notification, the resolution has been circulated to the eligible members of the Supreme Council under Article 23(i) of the JKCA Constitution. Since the matter concerned the president’s conduct and suspension, the decision was not sent to a book. Instead, it was distributed to the remaining nine members of the Supreme Council. Eight members voted in favor of the resolution, while one member did not report its decision.“Accordingly, the resolution was duly passed by a majority of 8:0 in terms of Rule 23(i) read with Rule 48(6) of the JKCA Constitution,” the notification said.He further stated that “pursuant to the said decision, Javed Ahmad Kuttab, President, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, has been suspended with immediate effect.”The notification also stated that the resolution will carry the same force and authority as the one passed during the properly held Supreme Council meeting.
It will be presented to the Council at its next meeting for ratification, as required by the Constitution.The JKCA also instructed all officers, employees, subordinate units and other employees of the association “to take all necessary steps to immediately implement the decision in accordance with the constitution” of the association.
