This is how the ICC T20 World Cup was produced in 2007,” he told news agency PTI.

Babwal said he had earlier designed the world’s largest cricket silver trophy ‘Friendship Cup’, which caught attention and later led the ICC to approach him for the T20 World Cup.“The ICC had initially planned to create the trophy using a combination of titanium and glass so that the design reflects the fast and modern style of T20 cricket,” he said.“Several prototypes were prepared, but the glass components frequently broke when combined with the metal structure, making the concept technically difficult to implement.

After several trials, she advised that the combination would not technically work.”He said that the final version of the trophy is made of silver and plated with platinum so that it will last for a long time and be suitable for an international event.Babwal added that the original trophy is kept at the ICC headquarters, while the winning team gets a similar replica. He said that the cup is about 21 inches tall, weighs about six kilograms, and is made of silver and plated with platinum.Meanwhile, India will be aiming for several milestones in the final. They are aiming to become the first host nation to win a T20 World Cup, the first team to defend the title and the first team to win the tournament three times.India has reached the final four times, the most by any team. Of the previous nine finals, six have been won by the chasing team. Of the remaining three, India have won twice – in 2007 and 2024 – both in matches decided in the final.
